Every Friday some children leave Boone County schools
knowing they will not eat again until Monday morning.
You can make a
difference for a child in our community.

Many of these children go hungry every weekend. |
Through Feed His Kids Florence
Baptist Church at Mt. Zion (FBMZ) provides nutritional food staples
for students in Boone County Schools.
FBMZ works with schools that are not helped by the Freestore
Foodbank. Students are eligible if they are on a “Free” or “Reduced”
meal plan, and their families cannot provide food for them on the
weekends or during school breaks.
FBMZ children will participate by receiving donations, sorting food,
and preparing food sacks. Feed His Kids
provides a wonderful opportunity for them to serve their community
as Jesus would.
No FBMZ staff or volunteers know who receives the bags. FBMZ relies
on the school’s Family Resource Officer to contact eligible
students’ families to obtain permission for their child(ren) to
participate in the Feed His Kids
program.
Feed His Kids delivers food sacks
to schools every Thursday morning. School Family Resource Officers
discreetly distribute food sacks on Friday.

and if you offer yourself to the hungry,
and satisfy the afflicted one, then your light will shine in the
darkness, and your night will be like noonday.
